A stacking tree with eighteen woodland visitors

A solid-beech stacking tree with 19 hand-painted woodland pieces — an owl, a fox, a hedgehog, a rabbit, a wolf, a woodpecker, a caterpillar, a toadstool, an acorn, a mother pig with her piglet, two birds, and five leaves. The trunk has slots and shelves; the animals balance, perch, and stack. Stacked tall it's an art piece on a shelf; pulled apart it's an hour of quiet play. Solid wood, water-based paint, no plastic.

Care

Wipe with a dry cloth or barely-damp linen. Avoid submerging. If a piece develops a sticky paint spot, a drop of beeswax on a soft cloth restores it. Store in the cotton drawstring bag to keep pieces together.

Is the paint safe?

Water-based, food-grade, lead-free. Sourced to meet ASTM F963.

How small are the smallest pieces?

The acorn and leaf pieces are under 1.5 inches. Small parts mean this set is not for under-3s; ages 3+ with supervision.

Will it stay stacked?

The trunk has slotted shelves designed to hold the animals in place when balanced. A determined toddler can knock it over, which is half the fun.
